Hon. Oladipupo Laleye Congratulates Governor Adeleke, Osun People and Accord Party on Re-Election Victory

Senior Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Special Duties, Hon. Oladipupo Laleye, has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as a clear sign of the confidence Osun residents have placed in his leadership.

Governor Adeleke was declared the winner of the August 15, 2026 Osun State governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), after securing 511,067 votes. His closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), polled 444,815 votes.

The result gives Adeleke another four years in office and marks a significant moment in Osun’s political history, with the Accord Party securing the governorship of the state for the first time.

In his congratulatory message, Laleye described the outcome as more than an electoral victory, saying it represents a renewed responsibility for the governor and his administration to continue working for the people of Osun.

He praised Governor Adeleke for what he described as a hard-fought campaign and commended members and supporters of the Accord Party for their commitment, mobilisation, and contributions throughout the election period.

According to Laleye, the renewed mandate should inspire the administration to serve with greater dedication, humility, and a stronger sense of responsibility.

He also congratulated the people of Osun State for participating in the democratic process and exercising their right to choose the leadership they want.

Laleye acknowledged the efforts of party leaders, campaigners, volunteers, supporters, and other stakeholders whose work contributed to the party’s performance at the polls.

He called on supporters of the governor and members of the Accord Party to remain united as the administration begins preparations for its second term. He stressed that the focus should now move beyond political differences to governance, development, and the welfare of residents.

The governor’s renewed mandate, Laleye noted, comes with greater expectations from citizens across Osun’s three senatorial districts. He therefore urged the administration to build on its existing programmes while pursuing new initiatives capable of improving the lives of residents and strengthening the state’s economy.

Laleye further called on political leaders and residents across the state to maintain peace following the conclusion of the election.

With the electoral contest now over, he said attention should turn to the future of Osun State and the shared responsibility of building a more prosperous and united society.

For the Accord Party, the result also opens a new chapter in Osun politics. Laleye expressed confidence that the party would use the opportunity to strengthen its structures and deepen its connection with people across the state.

He concluded by congratulating Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Accord Party leadership, and the people of Osun State, while wishing the governor a successful second term.

Laleye expressed optimism that the renewed mandate would encourage the administration to deepen its commitment to good governance, development, and the overall welfare of the people of Osun State.
